The Management and Protection component of the project strives to translate research and monitoring insights into effective, on-the-ground strategies for ensuring the long-term persistence of tigers throughout Thailand and the region.
The primary management and protection themes of the project include:
- Collaborating with regional stakeholders to ensure a that a landscape scale perspective is integrated into all conservation activities
- Managing focal habitats to maximize the productivity of tiger prey species with techniques such as prescribed burns and supplementary water supplies
- Conducting regular patrols and other enforcement activities to protect tigers, tiger prey, and the habitats on which they depend
- Providing state-of-the art equipment and training to management and protection staff
